Keep up with HIKARI — Sewtech Is Lighting Up the Egyptian Market

Sewtech stands as the most powerful and influential sewing machine distributor in Egypt, with 25 branches and partners across the country, a team of 500 employees (including nearly 200 after-sales engineers), and an annual sales volume of almost USD 30 million. Their business footprint covers the entire Egyptian market.

In mid-May 2025, HIKARI and Sewtech reached an initial cooperation agreement, and the first batch of HIKARI demonstration machines arrived in Egypt shortly afterward.

On June 28th, Mr. Yasser, the owner of Sewtech, led a highly reputable Egyptian customer to visit HIKARI’s headquarters in Shanghai, where they attended a technical session hosted by General Manager Mr. Wu. The customer quickly reported back to their head office and then traveled with us to Fujian to visit three well-known factories—Anta, 361°, and Zhunzhe—to gain deeper insight into HIKARI’s real performance in production environments. Highly impressed and encouraged by HIKARI’s product quality and technology, the customer confirmed an initial order of USD 136,000 on site in Fujian, followed by another USD 145,000 order in August.

After the sample factory was established and the goods arrived in Egypt, HIKARI immediately dispatched Global Expansion Director Mr. Devin Deng and Business Director Mr. Samuel to Egypt for deep-dive field training. They provided Sewtech’s team with systematic product knowledge, technical training, customer visits, technical seminars, and demo machine deployment.

In terms of market promotion, Mr. Yasser personally led the team to visit Egypt’s most influential key customers together with us. To accelerate market acceptance, Sewtech adopted an active strategy by providing one free lockstitch machine and one free overlock machine to major customers. These demo machines allowed customers to experience first-hand the stability and superior performance of HIKARI products. At the same time, Sewtech continued to promote customer feedback and usage content on Egyptian social media, greatly increasing market visibility.

In preparation for the December 4–7 exhibition, Sewtech invested heavily in upgrading their headquarters showroom, expanding it to 1,300 m², and launched a comprehensive promotional campaign across social media, online platforms, and the Cairo Metro.

In addition, Sewtech placed 11 outdoor lightbox billboards in key industrial and commercial areas, significantly boosting HIKARI’s public exposure. They also actively sent exhibition invitations to major customers ahead of time to create strong momentum for the upcoming show.

Since the partnership began, Sewtech has purchased nearly USD 2 million worth of goods from HIKARI and continues to urge us to speed up supply, showing the strong demand for HIKARI machines in Egypt. Looking ahead to the December exhibition, Mr. Yasser is highly confident that more customers will choose HIKARI.
